Coventry House: still life
Jul 11, 2009 For breakfast, I had two fried eggs on top of a split english muffin with lump crab meat and two sides: (i) white peaches and (ii) fried tomatoes. Next time I'll leave the crab meat out -- it gave the entire dish an odd taste.
Later in the day I made a basil and tomato salad. The basil is fresh from a pot on my back deck.
The dressing is fresh lime juice, dijon mustard and canola oil. Very light.
I then tried out a new coffee maker, the Bialetti Mukka Express. I've used the "regular" Bialetti for years and swear by it, so I thought this might be a good buy. It wasn't. It's too much work and the frothed milk doesn't work for me (too cold). Too many moving parts as well. It was challenging to clean.
I finished the day on the back deck with a Mexican beer.
